The groom experience
A dedicated journey: personal consultation, choice of fabrics and details, dedicated fittings up to the big day. We also coordinate accessories and the looks for the witnesses.
Book a consultation
The groom's suit stays with him through the whole day and lives on in the photographs. If you are looking for one in Trapani, here you will find a family atelier with a story that begins in 1959, three generations of work and the tailoring workshop on the same premises. We are in Valderice, between Trapani and Erice, and we receive by appointment. The starting point can be a collection piece worked around your figure, or a suit built entirely made to measure.
The groom's journey, from consultation to delivery
The consultation begins with listening. You tell us the date and time of the wedding, the setting for the reception, whether it is a church in town, a country baglio or a terrace above the sea, and the tone you and the bride have imagined. These few details decide the shape of the jacket, the colour and the weight of the cloth.
Then we come to the practical choices, between a collection piece, worked in the tailoring workshop around your figure, and a suit made entirely to measure. The fittings follow. The tailoring workshop is on the same premises as the atelier.
Shirt and accessories are chosen along the same path, because the outfit is always judged as a whole.
Colour and cloth for a Sicilian wedding
Colour is the first decision and it conditions everything else, from the shirt to the accessories, right through to the way the suit converses with the bride's dress. In Sicily two variables count above all, the time of the ceremony and the heat, especially between May and September, when the wedding season is concentrated.
We think about cloth season by season, with fuller constructions in the colder months and lightweight pieces for outdoor summer ceremonies. Within the colour families, these are the main directions.
- Blue groom's suit, from navy to midnight blue: right for the daytime and, above all, for the evening.
- Green groom's suit, from sage to bottle green, suited to country receptions and outdoor ceremonies.
- Grey and taupe, for morning weddings and for a classic register.
- Beige and sand, light under the sun and natural for seaside ceremonies.
- Black, to be kept for the tuxedo and for formal evening weddings.
Classic suit, three-piece or groom's tuxedo
The classic two-piece suit is the starting point. Clean and understated, it works when the ceremony takes place during the day and when you prefer a suit that does not ask for attention.
The three-piece groom's suit adds the waistcoat, and with it a more closed line and a more formal tone. It is also the easiest choice for the party, because the jacket can come off without losing the look.
The tuxedo remains the suit for evening weddings, with satin lapels, braid down the trouser and precise rules for shirt and accessories. During the consultation we consider together whether a tuxedo for a wedding in Sicily suits the time and the tone of your reception, or whether a dark suit worked in the details is the better answer.
Made-to-measure groom's suits in Trapani, with the tailoring workshop inside the atelier
In the atelier you will find the Cleofe Finati collections. We are the exclusive stockist for Cleofe Finati in western Sicily and the atelier is in Valderice, between Trapani and Erice.
The workshop is inside the atelier and men's made-to-measure tailoring is done in house. On a collection piece we work to adapt it to your figure; when it is needed, the suit is created entirely to measure and you choose the cloth, the lining, the buttons and the shape of the lapel.
Made to measure is the right route when your build has particular requirements, or when you want to choose every detail of the suit.
Groom, witnesses and family, coordinating without matching
The witnesses appear in almost every photograph, so their suits should converse with yours without imitating it. The same colour family in a different shade works well, or a cloth with a different hand.
For the witnesses, the fathers of the couple and the guests the reference is men's occasionwear, while for the women of the family there is women's occasionwear. In the atelier we also dress the bride with the White line and we offer made-to-measure footwear produced with Calzaturificio Francesco, reserved for women.
With the bride, coordination is a matter of details, from the shade of white or ivory to the choice between tie and bow tie, right down to the pocket square and the flower in the buttonhole. They are small decisions, and they come more easily once the wedding dress has already been chosen.
Groom's suits in Valderice, between Trapani and Erice
We receive by appointment, because choosing the suit asks for time and attention. The groom's department was born in 2016 and today the third generation of the family works in the atelier. The story, though, comes from much further back, from 1959, when Giacomo Buzzitta sold cloth as a travelling salesman in the villages around Trapani, and from the first shop window bearing the sign Giacomo Buzzitta, opened in 1973.
The atelier is at Via della Regione 29 in Valderice, more than 600 sqm between Trapani and Erice, and it can be reached from Trapani, Erice, Paceco, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Alcamo, Castelvetrano, Custonaci, San Vito Lo Capo and Castellammare del Golfo, as far as Palermo.
You can book on 0923 836115, on WhatsApp or by writing to info@buzzittastile.it. We are open Monday 16:00-20:00 and Tuesday to Saturday 9:00-13:00 and 16:00-20:00, and on Sunday by appointment. On Google the atelier has 4.7 stars from around 88 reviews.
Frequently asked questions
Is it better to start with the groom's suit or with the bride's dress?
It is usually simpler to start with the bride's dress, because that is what sets the tone of the ceremony. If the choice is still open, though, you can begin with the groom and keep the colour directions open.
How many fittings does a groom's suit need?
It depends on the suit and on the person wearing it. We do not set a number: we keep fitting until the suit sits the way it should.
Do you also make made-to-measure shirts for the groom?
Yes. The atelier has a made-to-measure shirt service, from the collar to the cuffs, and it can be developed alongside the suit, so that cloth, collar and cuff follow the same idea.
Which brands will I find in the atelier for the groom?
For men we work with Cleofe Finati, a brand for which we are the exclusive stockist in western Sicily, and then Luigi Bianchi, Palazzo and Digel. Alongside the collections there is made to measure, produced in our in-house workshop.
Can I bring a photo of the suit I have in mind to the atelier?
Yes, and it helps. A photograph makes it clear in an instant what kind of lapel, what jacket length or what effect of cloth you have in mind, and it lets us see straight away what can be made.
What is the difference between a collection piece and a made-to-measure suit?
A collection piece starts from an existing model and is worked in the tailoring workshop around your figure. A made-to-measure suit, on the other hand, is born from the cloth and from a pattern built on your measurements, and it lets you choose the lining, the buttons and the shape of the lapel.
