Who the White line is for

White is for anyone looking for a wedding dress that is not traditional: clean shapes, white or ivory, no theatrical effects. It is an offer with clearly stated boundaries, and we prefer to say so straight away: we are not a traditional bridal atelier.

It works well when the ceremony has an intimate tone: a civil wedding, a ceremony with few guests, a rite in a garden or by the sea. On these occasions what matters most is comfort and consistency with the setting chosen.

The wedding dresses of the White line are seen in Valderice, in the atelier, and they are looked at worn: on a hanger, a soft line says very little.

A civil wedding has a rhythm of its own: the ceremony is short, the guests are often few and lunch or the aperitif follows almost immediately. The wedding dress for a civil ceremony therefore has to work from the first moment to the last, with no changes and no complications.

During the consultation we look at the whole: the proportion of the shoulders, the height of the waist, the point where the hem falls. On an essential dress these proportions show more than anywhere else.

White and ivory: colour and fabric

White and ivory do not give the same effect: white is cooler and sharper, ivory is warmer. The difference shows next to the skin and changes with the hour of the ceremony, so it is judged by wearing the dress, not by looking at it on the hanger.

With fabrics, behaviour counts before the name: the more fluid ones follow movement, the structured ones hold the shape of the neckline and the shoulder. Matte surfaces absorb the full light of the afternoon, the faintly lustrous ones stand out more as the light fades.

If the wedding falls between May and September, in Sicily the weight of the fabric counts as much as the style: it is one of the first things to consider together.

The atelier's in-house tailoring workshop

Inside the atelier there is a tailoring workshop: alterations are made here, not elsewhere. We work on lengths, shoulders, armholes and waist.

For women's formalwear we also work made to measure, from the fabric to the design. The same workshop handles made-to-measure for men and women and made-to-measure shirts.

Consultations are by appointment, so that every meeting is given the time it needs. The atelier is in Valderice, at Via della Regione 29, and covers more than 600 sqm. The atelier can be reached from Trapani, Erice, Paceco, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Alcamo, Castelvetrano, Custonaci, San Vito Lo Capo and Castellammare del Golfo, as far as Palermo.

The business has been in the family since 1959, when Giacomo Buzzitta travelled the villages of the Trapani area in a Fiat 500 C Belvedere. The first shop window, with the Giacomo Buzzitta sign, came in 1973; the permanent shop in the Eighties. Today the third generation welcomes clients in the Valderice atelier, where the groom's department opened in 2016.
